Teak Panel Specifications

Two basic designs of the TDS Teak Panels are available:

1. TDS EXTERIOR DECKING

We offer standard planking widths of 1 1/4" (31mm), 1 7/8" (48mm), 2 1/4" (58mm) and 3 3/4" (96mm). Our standard thicknesses are 1/2" (12mm), 9/16" (14mm) and 3/4" (20mm), but we can supply other thicknesses on special order. TDS exterior decking is a watertight system. Joints and seams are caulked with a flexible rubber compound (TDS SIS440 TEAK CAULKING). The panels can be supplied with the battens straight or curved to meet the customer's requirements (the 4" wide, straight only).

2. TDS INTERIOR FLOORING

For interior areas, the flexibility of TDS Systems makes it possible to join different species of wood to provide enhancing wood accents to the environment you have in mind. TDS Interior flooring is designed for indoor use only. Interior floors are typically 1/2" (12mm) thick and can either be assembled with our standard width teak planks, or custom assembled with customer specified wood species, plank widths, and layout.

Our interior flooring can also be used for bars, desktops, and counters. It can be further enhanced with custom inlay work. Our interior flooring is for the discriminating owner and designer. Many species of exotic woods have been used, including: Teak, Ash, Cherry, Mahogany, Makore, Maple, Purpleheart, Paulope, Pyinkado, and Walnut. The joints in the deck can be designed to create various patterns. As an alternative to wood, seams between planks can be filled with any color of epoxy. Although the planking in TDS Interior flooring is normally laid straight, curved decking can be supplied, as well.

BACKING

Straight Decking panels are backed with fiberglass roving to provide minimum weight.
Curved Decking panels are backed with phenolic to maintain the designed curvature of the teak planks.
