How To Properly Prepare & Re-Caulk a Teak Deck Seam — Part 1

In the first video of our two-part guide, TDS craftsmen demonstrate surface preparation, seam profiling, and the correct taping technique before any caulk is applied. Proper preparation is the most critical step in a successful re-caulk — this video covers seam cleaning, old caulk removal, and the application of bond breaker tape to prevent three-point bonding.

Watch Part 2 for the complete caulk application, tooling, and finishing process. For product recommendations, see the SIS 440 caulking page and our guide to bond breaker tape.
