Adhesives
TDS marine adhesives are engineered specifically for bonding teak and composite deck panels to fiberglass, aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber substrates. Each product in the range is formulated to accommodate the natural expansion and contraction of marine decking over time — maintaining a permanent, waterproof bond through heat cycles, flexing, and continuous saltwater exposure.
The TDS adhesive range covers every phase of deck installation. FFE-200 and FE-180 are structural epoxy adhesives designed for gluing down pre-manufactured deck panels; AP-100 is a one-part elastomeric compound offering high initial tack for components and hardware; MPS-4000 is a fast-curing modified silane polymer bedding adhesive compatible with SIS 440 caulking.
Selecting the correct adhesive for your hull material and project type is critical to long-term performance. Contact your TDS dealer or our technical team for guidance on product selection, substrate preparation, and application method.

FFE-200 Premium Marine Epoxy
Custom blended flexible mastic of high quality epoxy resins. Light weight at 8 lb per gallon when cured, excellent sound and thermal insulator, used for fairing and final glue-down of deck panels.

FE-180 Marine Epoxy Adhesive
Two-part flexible epoxy adhesive engineered for bonding teak deck panels to fiberglass, aluminum, and steel. Accommodates natural expansion and contraction of teak with a permanent, waterproof bond.

AP-100 Polyurethane Adhesive
General purpose, high strength adhesive for general marine gluing applications. High initial tack time eliminates temporary fasteners, and remains flexible after cure for lasting marine performance.

MPS-4000 Marine Adhesive/Sealant
Premium modified silane polymer technology. No primer required on most substrates, cures to durable rubber, and maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range.
Common Questions
Marine Adhesives FAQ
Which TDS adhesive should I use for gluing down teak deck panels?
FFE-200 is TDS's primary glue-down adhesive for teak panels — it is a lightweight, flexible marine epoxy that bonds panels securely while accommodating hull flex. MPS-4000 is used for bedding hardware and components where a bedding sealant adhesive is needed rather than a structural epoxy.
What is the difference between FFE-200 and FE-180?
FFE-200 is a two-part flexible epoxy designed for gluing and fairing teak and composite deck panels to the substrate. FE-180 is a two-part flexible epoxy adhesive engineered for bonding teak deck panels to fiberglass, aluminum, and steel substrates. Your TDS representative can advise which is appropriate for your specific substrate and deck type.
Does TDS adhesive require a primer before application?
Primer requirements depend on the substrate and product. FFE-200 typically does not require a separate primer on properly prepared surfaces. Always degrease and dry the substrate thoroughly. Contact TDS for guidance specific to your hull material (GRP, aluminium, steel, or carbon fibre).
How long does TDS adhesive take to cure?
Initial cure times vary by product and temperature. FFE-200 reaches handling strength in approximately 24–48 hours; full cure takes up to 7 days. Work in conditions above 10°C for best results. Allow full cure before exposing the deck to heavy use or seawater.
Are TDS adhesives suitable for non-decking applications?
TDS adhesives are engineered specifically for marine decking systems. For deck panel bonding, hardware bedding, and seam applications they are the correct product. Contact TDS for guidance if you have an unusual application.
