Eco Cleaners

Proper deck cleaning is the foundation of a long-lasting teak or composite surface. TDS ECO-100, ECO-300 & ECO-PRO cleaners are formulated without harsh acids, caustic sodas, or phosphates that erode teak grain, bleach colour unevenly, and break down caulk seam walls over time. Both products are 100% MARPOL-compliant and meet Florida Clean Marina standards.

ECO-100 is TDS's standard biodegradable teak deck cleaner, suitable for regular maintenance cleaning. ECO-300 is a stronger formulation for deep cleaning heavily soiled, stained, or grayed decks. Spot Lifter targets localized stains — rust, oil, and organic discoloration — without the need to clean the entire deck surface.

Unlike two-part acid cleaners, TDS eco cleaners do not require neutralization after use and are safe to use near waterways. Regular cleaning with ECO-100 or ECO-300 removes salt, grime, mildew, and discoloration while preserving the structural integrity and natural appearance of your deck.

Common Questions

Deck Cleaners FAQ

What is the safest way to clean a teak deck?

Use a soft-bristle brush with TDS ECO-100 (powder) or ECO-300 (liquid) cleaner, working with the grain of the wood. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Avoid acid-based two-part cleaners, bleach, and high-pressure washing — all of which remove wood fibre and damage the caulking bond.

What is the difference between ECO-100 and ECO-300?

ECO-100 is a powder cleaner mixed with water, particularly effective for heavy soiling and periodic deep cleaning. ECO-300 is a ready-to-use liquid suitable for regular maintenance cleaning. Both are phosphate-free, MARPOL-compliant, and Florida Clean Marina rated.

Can TDS cleaners be used on composite and cork decking?

Yes. ECO-300 is suitable for cleaning TDS composite and cork decking systems. It is gentle enough for regular use on these surfaces without affecting seam integrity or surface finish.

How often should I clean my teak deck?

Light rinse-downs with fresh water should happen as frequently as possible — especially after saltwater use. A full clean with ECO-100 or ECO-300 is recommended every 2–4 weeks during the sailing season, or as needed depending on dirt, mildew, or traffic levels.

Will TDS cleaners affect the caulk in my teak seams?

No. ECO-100 and ECO-300 are formulated to be safe for use with TDS SIS 440 caulking and will not break down or discolour the seam compound when used as directed.
